The judging process is described below:
1. All entries are subject to a preliminary review by a Judging Committee, comprised of members of the InnoVision Awards Advisory Board, prior to being forwarded to the panel of independent judges. The purpose of this review is:
- To assess propriety of category for which the entry is submitted. The Judging Committee is allowed to change the category to the benefit of the applicant. (Judges are notified of all changes and have the option to re-classify the entry.)
- To ensure completeness of the entry application.
- To verify the eligibility of each entry.
- To ensure entry meets all necessary criteria. If not, the Judging Committee will disqualify the applicant. Judges are notified of all disqualifications.
2. All entry applications are sent to each Judge for review and scoring. Judges are required to read each application thoroughly. They may, but are not required, to read any supplemental materials submitted with entry.
3. Judges score each entry for specific criteria using a rating scale. Specific notes and/or questions requiring clarification are also made by each Judge. The Scoring Sheets and comments are returned to the Judging Committee for compilation.
4. The Judging Committee compiles the scores for each entry. Min/max and range statistics are also determined. The compilation, showing each entry and the scoring from each judge, and statistics are sent to each judge for review and reference.
5. Judges review the compilation of scores and judges’ comments for all entries, and compare notes in a conference call. Judging Committee members are available to answer questions. Judges then determine finalists and winners for each category.
